Contrary to swirling speculations, Rajasthan Royals (RR) skipper & wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson will continue to be part of the Royals family for the next Indian Premier League (IPL) season. The Kerala player's rumor that he is set to part ways with RR gained steam after he followed Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Instagram and was also spotted with CSK icon MS Dhoni. Rumors intensified further when several publications reported that Samson would be a Super King in the next IPL 2026 season.
However, according to a latest report in Mumbai Mirror, the 30-year-old is not leaving RR to join CSK or Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
"RR has decided not to trade Samson or any of their players for now. Samson is very much a part of the Royals set-up and the undisputed captain of the team," a source said on Tuesday.

Sanju Samson shows loyalty towards the Rajasthan Royals
For the unversed, it was the Royals franchise that placed trust in the young Samson in 2012. In his debut season only, the keeper-batter showed the huge talent he possessed by playing fearlessly. Later, like they always do, the Royals invested heavily in the Kerala batter, and it is paying dividends as he went on to become their most successful batter.

Leadership came to Samson in 2022, and in his very first season, he led the team to the finals before they lost to debutant Gujarat Titans (GT). Not only is he the leader of the side, but he is also their best batter with a huge amount of experience. However, this IPL season, the 30-year-old could only play nine games before he suffered a side strain and missed the remainder of the IPL season for RR. Rumors also emerged that he had a rift with head coach Rahul Dravid.
However, the former India captain dismissed those rubbish claims by standing firm with Samson during the injury. The IPL mini-auction is set to take place tentatively in December, and we will surely get to know if Samson is a Royal or a Super King.
