Mumbai is all set to host the IPL 2025 match between the Mumbai Indians (MI) and Delhi Capitals (DC) on May 21. The match is at 7:30 PM IST and is a must-win match for both teams.
MI and DC are placed fourth and fifth on the points table, respectively. A win for MI will take them to 16 points and closer to the playoffs. MI can end with a maximum of 18 points, while DC, if they beat both MI and PBKS, can end with a maximum of 17 points and make their way into the playoffs.
However, heading into this game, there is a major rain threat in Mumbai city, likely to play spoilsport in the match. There is a forecast of heavy rainfall. There is a rain threat looming large, and the match can be shortened. However, with BCCI's newly laid rule change in place, we might have a five-over contest provided the match runs into midnight with the rain affecting the contest. DC owner Parth Jindal requested the BCCI to move the match out of Mumbai and schedule it in Lucknow to give both teams a fair chance to win the game.

MI vs DC Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai- Pitch Report
The Wankhede track has always been a good one for batting. Given this is a high-stakes encounter, if the weather prevails, we can see a good contest between bat and ball. However, with rain expected to play spoilsport, this match by all means can be a shortened game.
MI vs DC Weather Report
As per several media outlets, there is a 60 percent chance of rain in the MI vs DC match in Mumbai. Wankhede's drainage is not as efficient as some of the other venues, which might impact the game. A yellow alert also has been issued, and the rain percentage can increase up to 80 percent in the evening. In case the match is washed out, DC is effectively out of the playoffs, with MI getting to 15 points with teams sharing a point each. If DC and MI both win their last respective game against PBKS, MI would get to 17 points, while DC would be stranded at 16, thus falling just short of qualification.
