Sanju Samson scored an important half-century in a friendly T20 match at Greenfield Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram. His knock helped KCA Secretary XI beat KCA President XI by one wicket in a thrilling finish on Friday.
Batting first, President XI posted 184/8 in 20 overs. Rohan Kunnummal hit 60 runs off 29 balls and Abhijith Praveen added 47 from 18 deliveries. For Secretary XI, Sharafudheen took three wickets, while Sijomon Joseph picked up two scalps.
In reply, Secretary XI chased down the target in 19.4 overs. Vishnu Vinod smashed 69 runs from 29 balls at the top. Sanju Samson then anchored the innings with his 54 runs coming off 36 balls. The match went to the last over before Basil Thampi hammered a six to win the game for his team.

Sanju Samson’s Half-Century Powers KCA Secretary XI to Last-Over Win in Friendly T20 Clash
Samson came in at No. 4 and played a calm innings after Vinod’s dismissal. His 54-run knock had two fours and three sixes.
With wickets falling at the other end, Samson kept the scoreboard moving. He was dismissed with 13 runs still required off eight balls, but his innings had already set up the win.
This knock came ahead of the Kerala Cricket League (KCL), where Samson will play for Kochi Blue Tigers. He was bought for INR 26.80 lakh and will be vice-captain with his elder brother Saly Samson leading the side.
Sanju Samson Likely to Be Picked for Asia Cup 2025
Reports suggest Samson is certain to be picked as an opener for India in the Asia Cup 2025. The squad will be named on August 19.
Selectors are likely to back Samson to partner Abhishek Sharma at the top. India will begin their Asia Cup 2025 campaign on September 10 against the UAE in Dubai.
