The Laura Wolvaardt-led South Africa will be touring Pakistan for a three-match ODI series before the Women's World Cup 2025 kicks off on September 30. The bilateral series will give both teams a chance to fix combinations ahead of the showpiece event, which is set to take place in India. The ODI series will begin on September 16 to 22. South Africa will travel to Lahore, but before that, they will undergo a training camp in Durban from August 25 to September 01.
The Proteas, who finished as semi-finalists during the CWC 2022 event, will be aiming for the ultimate glory. They have managed to reach consecutive finals in the T20 World Cup 2022 & 2024 events, but have yet to reach the finals of a 50-over World Cup. They have stumbled in the semis hurdle two times - 2017 & 2022. With the Men's team breaking the curse of winning the final in the World Test Championship (WTC) Final against Australia earlier this year, the Wolvaardt-led side need no further inspiration then their male counterparts achieving glory for the rainbow nation.

The road ahead of CWC has been a bit patchy for South Africa, as they lost series against Australia & India. However, the ODI series against Pakistan will allow the Proteas to fix some areas and lock in the playing XI ahead of the showpiece event.
Laura Wolvaardt & Co. aim to ace the sub-continent challenge against Pakistan
Notably, the Pakistan three-match ODI series will also give South Africa a golden chance to ace the sub-continent challenge ahead of the World Cup. With the pitches in India set to aid spinners, Wolvaardt & Co. will get a massive opportunity to fix chinks in armour. Pakistan boasts of quality spinners in Syeeda Aroob Shah, Nashra Sundhu, Sadia Iqbal, & Omaima Sohail. It will be a good challenge for South Africa's batters, who would aim to take on the spinners.
