West Indies are set to host Australia in the second Test at Grenada starting from June 3. The match starts from 7:30 PM IST with the hosts needing to bounce back.
West Indies made a losing start to their WTC 2025-27 campaign as they lost the opening Test against Australia by 159 runs. They managed to bowl out Australia for 180 runs in the first innings. However, they themselves were bowled out for just 190 runs in their first innings, thereby could not gain a big lead.
Australia responded with 310 runs in their second innings and the hosts were bowled out for just 141 runs. Hence batting remains a concern for West Indies heading into the second Test. Batting also remains a concern for Australia, despite Steve Smith's return to the side.

The big news for Australia heading into the second Test is the return of Steve Smith. He will bat but will not field at slips on account of his finger injury. Both teams need a batting rejig after the first Test. For Australia, Sam Konstas, Cameron Green and Jos Inglish are under pressure to score runs with the bat. The bowling attack remains the same with Pat Cummins leading the attack along with Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Nathan Lyon for company.
West Indies, have to win this Test if they are to stay alive in the series. Skipper Roston Chase said he did not know much about the track when asked about it in the press conference. They played four seamers in Shamar Joseph, Alzarri Joseph, Juston Greaves and Jayden Seals. There are talks about including an extra spinner in the second Test. Meanwhile, this will be the 100th Test for former WI skipper Kraigg Brathwaite.
