The Iconic M.Chinnaswamy Stadium is a historic venue located in the heart of Bengaluru, Karnataka. The Stadium hosted its first test match in November 1974, between India and the West Indies, and since then, the stadium has hosted numerous matches, including high-profile international fixtures like World Cups across the format, including Tests, ODIs, T20Is, and IPL games.
M.Chinnaswamy Stadium is also one of the first stadiums in India to implement solar-powered floodlights, showcasing its push toward sustainability. The Stadium also implemented the first-ever SubAir drainage system, considered one of the best in India, to quickly remove surface water and ensure the field is ready for play shortly after rain.
The Pitch in this Stadium is known for its batting-friendly nature, with short boundaries, often resulting in high-scoring thrillers in the limited overs. With a seating capacity of approximately 40000, it is one of the most passionate and vibrant stadiums in India. The two ends of the Stadium are named Pavilion End and BEML End.
This stadium is owned by the Government of Karnataka and managed by the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA). It remains the home Stadium to the Karnataka State team, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and the Indian Cricket team.
